Default FLP owners inside please

I'm about to install some FLP's on my 01 Firehawk.I need some opinions if I'm missing anything. Here's what I got:
FLP's w/cats,off roads,y-pipe
98 air tubes w/checkvalves
factory header gaskets
Am I missing anything?
Also what size hole should I drill in the restrictor plates?
I'll be putting these on in my garage,How high do I have to get the car?

Congrats... they are wonderful headers

1) Reusing the factory gaskets, or just buying new GM ones are the way to go, much better than the ones they send you with the FLP's.

2)Do you have 02 simms? You will need those to avoid the SES lights for not using the rear 02's. (The catalyst ones)

3)The holes that need to be drilled in your restrictor plates for the AIR tubes are: 5/16" for the bolts, and 3/16" for the air to pass through.

4)I had to use jackstands fully extended with about 8 inches of wood underneath them to slide the passenger one up in there.. the driver side is a piece of cake and it doesnt need to be that high.

5)And put some nice plugs that are properly gapped in there while u are in there. That is if you havent already done it

Have fun! They are awesome!

You'll also need new gaskets for the air pump tubes. You need a total of four (one for each side of the restrictor plate). Also, either buy one 02 wire loom extender (Thunder Racing sells them) or you will have to lengthen one of your factory ones. I can't remember which one is longer, the drivers side or passengers side, but if you switch sides with one of the wire looms you will only have to lengthen one loom or buy just one loom extender.

Thanks for the reply's so far.
I have the O2 simms but it looks like I'll be ordering some extensions.
The only problem I see is getting the car high enough.

I guess I had one of the odd situations, cuz i didnt need o2 extenders. I was able to pull the black plastic tiedowns around the motormount out and that slacked the harness enough to reach.. and with still room to ziptie away from the header.

Good Luck

I didn't need extenders either. I just used the 2 longest o2's.

yea, you can use the rears- they are the same.

only problem was getting the pas. side high enough. i had to start taking things off the shelves to jack it up a few more inches.

you dont really need any new gaskets. i reused all the AIR ones, and the manifold ones. no leaks yet. do the headers have an EGR tube too?? I just threaded the hole and put a bolt in my EGR hole.

you need a sawzaw for the I pipe- need to cut a little off.

Just need one o2 extension for the front because you can pull out enough from the loom to make the driver side reach, but the passenger side will come up about 2" short. Everything else should be good since you have the o2 sims already. I used 19" jack stands and had no problem getting them in the car, but the passenger side one was about 1/2" from touching the ground when installing them. Make sure you have a friend to help you and be carefull putting those header bolts back in! one of mine stripped and it was a BITCH to get that out of the head. Pick up some exhaust repair tape (like $2-3) and wrap it around the y pipe clamps before you put the clamps on, stops any potential leaks. Also I have an extra o2 extension if you want to buy it, its a 12" and ill let ya have it for $10. Email me if your interested, your going to love the headers, good luck!
