Default Sweet Oil Filter!!!!!

Hey guys I found this website through a local magazine and was wondering if anyone can tell if this oil filter will work on our LS1's. This is a non-sponsor link so please don't whack me with the ban stick. I think this would be a damn good filter as you never have to replace it you just take it out clean it off and you can even see engine deposits as they attract to the metal grid. Let me know if this will work for our LS1's and hopefully this is another option for us.

Update!!!

It looks like one filter will work. P/N is listed below. Note however 2 different part numbers. One for the camaro and one for the firebird. WTF! Same motor last time I checked.

Camaro
TruFilter P/N = TFSD18
Non Sponsor P/N = 107588

Firebird
TruFilter P/N = TFMD26
Non Sponsor P/N = 107592

Expensive yes. However they never need to be replaced, they also trap everything alot better than normal filters. I guess if you like cutting your filter in half after every oil change to see what's inside it then more power to you. This one just open it up look at whats in there rinse throw it back in. I spoke with them about the filter and it is listed at 209.99 right now for the camaro and firebird filter.

just doesnt seem right. i personally wouldnt want to a reuseable filter. also who cares what it looks like on the inside. if its that bad youll notice it in the oil thats draining out. filters are roughly 3 bux a pop from autozone, 200 bux is just about the same as just replacing a filter every 3,000 miles within a 200,000 mile motor lifespan. maybe its just me but it doesnt sit right on the idea of "wash off and reuse".

Lol, no matter WHAT is in your filter and whether you see it or not your engine is in the same condition. Thats like saying the blindfold will save the man before a firing squad.

As to it filtering better than other filters...who said that? I think that would be THE PEOPLE SELLING IT. Do you also have a turbonator and its 35% better economy and 15whp more?

DO NOT DO IT. Check out the poor filtration of this filter.

95% at 30 microns.

The AMSOIL EaO filters are 98.7% at 15 microns as a comparison.

What happens when you clean and get dirt or contamination on the "clean" side of the element? Stick with disposables for the best care for your car.

Well. I would not do it.. but I guess if I was some where far way in some remote land I could not get filters or they are costly to get. I might consider it for my daily or work related drivers. But not for my HP or classic cars.

No, I mean K&N, as in K&N air filters, for a second I forgot they made oil filters too, their oil filters are top notch. But I wouldnt use a K&N air "filter" if you payed me to.

I guess in this "remote land" they also have premium gas as well as oil, just no filters, DANGIT! That would suck

A much better way is to run an oil analysis from time to time and since most here change the oil every 2 to 5k miles I'm not sure how much insight you're going gain by cutting the filter open.
