Default Timing Advance on my 2002 sucks! Help!!!!

All,

Autotap'd my 2002 last night. With a lid and stock maf I was getting about 19 degree's on average @ WOT, and no Knock retard. O2's were .940 to .960

I put a ported MAF on the car and got about 21 degrees on average @ WOT. But I averaged about 1.9 deegree's KR with the ported MAF, and the car was running very lean! O2's were .820 to .840

What cam I do to get my timing into the 25+ range at WOT without KR and running too lean?

01-02 don't see as much timing because of the new cam. 24/25 is good. Dunno why you are so rich then that lean. Reset the PCM. See what it does.

I run 88.x/89 at WOT with OEM MAF, Lid, 0 KR

I have a friend with an ’02 WS6. He was seeing 25 degrees advance with 0 KR at WOT after removing the MAF screen and doing a home port and polish job on the MAF. His O2s were in the .910 range after the MAF work.

My ’00 WS6 got 27.5 degrees of advance with a totally stock MAF at WOT before custom tuning.

With Direct-flo lid and stock everything else I'm getting a max of 25 degrees timing with 0 KR around 5,700 rpm's with my '01. O2's are richer than my '99 was. The B1S1 is averaging around .905 until 5,000+ RPM's where it drops down to .895 or so. This is with 93 octane gasoline.

What octane gas are you using? 19 degrees sounds low even on an '01/'02. At what RPM's are you taking this measurement?

What are you getting in the 5000 and up range? What about just before the upshift?

Don't **** with the MAF. Wrong time to do experiments. No real reason to change it for what you have anyway. Figure out timeing issue first. don't forget warranty/dealer too.
