New dyno #s for ARE LQ4 383 Nos motor
RWHP 623.8
RWTQ 729.9
Only pulled to 4900 rpm before we shutdown due to going too lean for comfort (14.8 to 1). I think I have the fuel problem figured out now though. This time I used the nitrogen push system for the Nos system. That was the only difference over the 611 rwhp pull two months ago. At 4900 when we shutdown it was still climbing hard. I think I would have hit 650 easily. This was with Nos kit 5177 and a single cheater noid with the 140 shot pills in the lines. Bottle pressure was at 1200 psi and stayed there the entire run. Also this was with Et streets on since I spun on the rollers last time. Still a work in progress. I have to work on a few issues and maybe I can add the second stage.

Bet that feels FUN! Hey, how much of that power is motor and how much is nitrous? Just wondering how much actual nitrous you are running, jet sizes don't tell me much when it comes to higher HP cars. What cam specs are you using also?

Great results, you will be even more impressed when you start to up the pills and see the full potential of the engine. 800rwtrq will not be a problem and 700rw relaible hp shouldn't be a problem either.
Keep up the great work and keep us posted, when you are ready to up the shot send me a note and I can help with the tune up!

Re: New dyno #s for ARE LQ4 383 Nos motor
Last dyno on motor was 422 rwhp. I think it may be a little more now since the motor is a little looser...maybe 430 or so. The jet sizes dont mean to much because I always run at 1200 psi and use nitrogen to maintain that throughout the run. I just pulled the jets last night and rechecked them to see what size they were. I could get a .043 bit in the hole but not a 0.44. So its actually a hair less than a 150 shot. But the way I run it the "shot" size is not an accurate description. I know some people gave me a little greif last time saying there was no way the motor could pick up that much HP from that size shot. Picking up X hp on X shot is not what I found amazing about this motor. Its that this is the same shot that I alway saw around 100-110 hp gains from my old heads and cam motor. And now I see close to 200 hp gains.
Now the rest of the car is slowly coming together. Should have some decent times soon.

Ok, first off AWESOME N2O motor. ARE DEFINATELY knows what they're doing when it comes to nitrous. Now, can you give some details of the buildup? Im thinging its a 4.030" bore iron block with an offset 3.750" stock crank with all the goodies. Or it could be a .040"-over block with a slightly less ground crank. Either way, bravo to Nick and crew. When are we gonna get pics of A) the nitrogen/bottle setup, B) the car and motor itself, and C) the bad *** light/arming switches you set up?????

Ya, ARE can really build a nitrous motor can't they. Posts like this makes can't wait till my iron block 422+ nitrous motor is ready. I think it should put down some good numbers. BTW, what kind of fuel system are you running? I have to decide on my fuel system for this monster motor soon.

Re: New dyno #s for ARE LQ4 383 Nos motor
Thanks for the great setup Nick....I will be calling you in a few days.
Ryan...I was expecting a digicam for Christmas but didnt get one. I promise I will get some pics soon. There is some neat stuff on the car...lotsa airplane parts..lol. The bore is 4.06 and crank offset ground to 3.71 I believe.
The fuel system is the ARE intank setup. Basically a Walbro intank prewired with a relay as well as a Walbro inline. I am going to find a 98 tank and add a sump soon and real fuel pump soon. The Walbro doesnt like it when its less than 1/4 tank (pressure spikes).
I havent had much luck at the track yet. Best so far was a 10.919 at 128 with a smaller shot and bent up stock suspension zig zagging down the track. I recently put in some LCAs and a double adjustable panhard. I went to the track last Friday and had everything set to make a good run. Got a great burnout....Launched harder than I ever have and the car was pulling hard. So hard it was almost scary (I am not the most experianced drag racer). Shifted second and hit a patch of something on the track and the car pitched wildly for the wall. Maybe 30 degrees to the right. I pulled it out of gear....hit the brakes...straightened it out..put it back in second...nailed it again and still managed an 11.2. I did not run again since I didnt have a change of underwear.I am thinking it should run mid 10s as it sits. Keep in mind this is still a daily driver. Only two suspension upgrades...stock rear...stock SS rims and tires up front...ET streets out back on salad shooter rims...and dont forget its still a six speed. I still have lots to do and lots to learn. But I am having fun!
