02 z28
Ive had my 02 z28 now for 3 months since i sold my syclone...I have not wanted to race my car until now, figurd i buy it just the way it was, but now the urge to race is back cause i regret selling my truck i guess(if any1 ever gets a chance to take a ride in a syclone/typhoon do it, you never felt a ride that pulled so hard) anywho when i bought my car the salesman told me it came with the ls6 intake and cam and told me it bout 25 more hp than the 01 model but chevy wont admit to it for some reason...now my question is what would be reasonable 1/4 times for my car. It has all options a Z28 come with, except the hurst m6.....a4,sport suspension pkg, ttops, leather,cd changer,zr goodyears, trac.control, some kind of upgraded rearend, chrome wheels, pww, pws, etc. It isa totally stock for now. Ill admit im not to knowledgable when it comes to the ls1 except its a bad *** motor, any starter upgrades to begin with
Well, you don't have more HP then the 01's, you are identical....
The best mod for an A4 would be a torque converter
I suggest the Vig3200
And get a good catback like Loudmouth, Corsca, Borla, etc...
Get an airlid and a K&N....
go to www.installuniversity.com for some free mods lists....go to the install documents....

well when you first get your car you want to go faster but dont want to throw down a lot of money I was there just like you. So I would say get a good cat back and whisper intake w/ k&n air fliter. As time comes you will be looking to sell whatever you can to buy new mods. That is where I am now. If you want good times Get a torque conveter the frist thing you do seriously it is well worth the money. Ask anyone here with an A4 trans it is one of the best mods. It is a must have. It works wonders

As always, the salesman is full of crap. The cam in the '01's and '02's is the same cam that's in the 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0L truck engines. It's true that you have the LS6 intake, though. '01's and '02's have been showing some really nice #'s on the dyno and at the track compared to previous years.
The absolute best bang-for-the-buck mod for an A4 is an aftermarket torque converter. I shaved off over .6 from my 1/4-mile ET with the Vig 3200. I've tried 4 different Vigilantes and 4 different Yanks, stalls ranging from 2800 up to over 5,000 true stall, and the Vigilante 3200 is the best all-around street/strip converter for me. It isn't too loose to where you'll be mad every time you drive it, yet it nets a great gain. I've tried three Whisper lids, one Direct-Flo, and now two MTI lids (first one was sold with my last car), and the MTI lids definitely fit the best for me. The Whisper lids kept cracking on me, and the Direct-Flo lid didn't fit too well. The MTI lid is definitely durable and fits great, too. Keep your eyes open in the classified parts forum. There's usually one or two used ones for sale. I also recommend a catback exhaust system. I'm running an SLP dual/dual system that I bought used for $208 shipped to my door. It's in great shape, and it flows REALLY well. What's even better is that it's quiet.
A lid, catback, and aftermarket converter will put you solidly in the 12's. From there, I'm sure you'll become a parts addict like the rest of us and will quickly want more power and lower ET's. Welcome to the board, and have fun modding!

Thanx for the info fellas! But i think i just found out my car has the 2.73s instead of the 3.23 perf. rear axle i paid for. Called the dealership and told me to bring it in tomorrow to find out. Said theyll deduct it from my price or can wait 2 weeks to get the new rear end. Would the 2.73 hurt my times badly?
I have friend that runs 12.39s with 2.73 gears with Mac Headers, 3800 stall converter, air lid, K&N, Borla Catback and free ram air.
273 gears for the most part kinda suck. But if you get a chance for your dealership to order you new gears if they didn't install the correct ones, opt for the GM 373 gears. The 373 gears will really help you at the track and combined with the 3200 stall converter, it would be a new car.
If you can't get the 373 gears in the place of 323's, then I would get your money back and use that money to get GM 373 gears and have someone install it for you.
Just my opinion, but it would make your car move at the track.
