The best mod for an A4 would be a torque converter
I suggest the Vig3200
And get a good catback like Loudmouth, Corsca, Borla, etc...
Get an airlid and a K&N....
go to www.installuniversity.com for some free mods lists....go to the install documents....
any 1/4 ml numbers on what a stock 01-02 a4 will run

With the 3.23 gears (which it sounds like you have), anywhere from 12.9-13.3@104-106mph with some good 'break in' miles on it and at a decent track on a cool day.

The absolute best bang-for-the-buck mod for an A4 is an aftermarket torque converter. I shaved off over .6 from my 1/4-mile ET with the Vig 3200. I've tried 4 different Vigilantes and 4 different Yanks, stalls ranging from 2800 up to over 5,000 true stall, and the Vigilante 3200 is the best all-around street/strip converter for me. It isn't too loose to where you'll be mad every time you drive it, yet it nets a great gain. I've tried three Whisper lids, one Direct-Flo, and now two MTI lids (first one was sold with my last car), and the MTI lids definitely fit the best for me. The Whisper lids kept cracking on me, and the Direct-Flo lid didn't fit too well. The MTI lid is definitely durable and fits great, too. Keep your eyes open in the classified parts forum. There's usually one or two used ones for sale. I also recommend a catback exhaust system. I'm running an SLP dual/dual system that I bought used for $208 shipped to my door. It's in great shape, and it flows REALLY well. What's even better is that it's quiet.
A lid, catback, and aftermarket converter will put you solidly in the 12's. From there, I'm sure you'll become a parts addict like the rest of us and will quickly want more power and lower ET's. Welcome to the board, and have fun modding!

273 gears for the most part kinda suck. But if you get a chance for your dealership to order you new gears if they didn't install the correct ones, opt for the GM 373 gears. The 373 gears will really help you at the track and combined with the 3200 stall converter, it would be a new car.
If you can't get the 373 gears in the place of 323's, then I would get your money back and use that money to get GM 373 gears and have someone install it for you.
Just my opinion, but it would make your car move at the track.
