Default Which headers.. Grotts or DynaTech???

I'm getting a Stage II H/C Cam package soon and wanted some 1 7/8 long tubes to go with it. I was looking at getting the Grotts through ARE for $845, I saw on LS1Speed.com that the Dynatech 1 7/8'S were $429. Question is are the Grotts worth the extra $$$. Thanks. ~Tony

The dynatechs are cheaper, but add $99 for the collectors to the price shown.

The dynatechs do not have emissions hook ups so if you need to pass a visual inspection of your pollution control equipment or desire to have it work, it could be a problem.

The Grots have a Y-pipe available, the dynatechs you will need to make your own.

BTW, I believe that if you join the ARE GP, the Grots will be only $800 as there will be enough to make the lower price break.

Actually it is $99 per header...so the price will be like $629....Then you have to do the y-pipe. I think you should do the Grotts, but then again I'm in the GP for the Grotts and I want the price to go down to $800

Well I've seen the Grots and I have the NEW stepped Dynatechs sitting right here.Let me tell u they r AWESOME!!
Coated inside and out and 670 to my door.
Custom Y-pipe is gonna cost me 180 from Mufflex But I know it'll fit perfectly.I wont have to worry aboutit hitting or being a cheaply made piece.I'm going 3in Y.

So I'm into the whole setup including bolt and gaskets for 850.Only drawback see is no SMOG on the Dyna's.But I'm not to concerned about that.
I believe the Dyna's have better collectors than the Grots,But thats just an opinion.

Nicks giving u guys a good deal on the Grots
I would grabem while u can.

Is Mufflex gonna have this Y-pipe available to the public, or is this custom per your application?

I am gonna step up from my MAC's here shortly, and was looking for a good 3" y-pipe that will bolt up to my 4" Mufflex.........

I believe one is a stepped version, and the other is a consistant size. I believe there is also a difference in collecter size. 3.5" vs. 3"
My vote is to get the Grotts.
No matter what header you get, do yourself a favor, & get a custom Y made. The Grott Y is junk, & so is every other one I have seen. Nothing like a custom, with a flowmaster collector, unless you are going with true duals

I just talked with nick. We are still one short on the GP for the next price break ($800), so whoever orders today means we all get the full price break and $25 off on the Y-Pipe too.

Matt, I would find a reputible exhaust shop to make you a mandrel bent 3" y-pipe into a 4" flowmaster collector to mate up to your 4" Mufflex. If there is no one local, I know MTI makes them for around $300 including the collector. I was about to get them to make my y-pipe awhile back, but found an awesome shop to make mine. Fit and finish was awesome! Email Jayson and see what he can work out for you.

As for the topic, if you can get ahold of a set of Grots, then that would be my choice. I am more than happy with mine.
