Phillip, per your initial query from 11/29 I sent you the info, and you responded on 12/5. I in turn responded back to you on the two questions you had. I keep all the emails so I can keep track. That was right before Xmas season so I bet you were super-swamped. I will resend you the info again in a few minutes.

I'm one of the few mega dollar mod guys who does not have a FTRA or clone. I'm all for doing one, I just cannot take more than a 10F increase in temps sitting at lights, and I have been hoping to see someone post about how it is in traffic.

I've seen 227* in the middle of summer after a couple of high rpm atap logging. This is in Detroit with stock programming and the lower plate on. I have since modded the car to have the low speed fan to come on at 172* and the high speed fan to come on at 203*. I don't think that I will have as much of a problem this year. If I can't keep the car under 210* though, I will be swapping to a lower temp. thermo.

I just installed one with GeorgeC's help (thanks George!! ), and hopefully it won't hurt the cooling much in hot Florida weather, but I'll report back on that soon. Hell for what it's worth, car hasn't hit more than 214 in 75-80 degree weather so far, and I haven't used my manual fan switch yet(yep been warm last week here in Florida, even northern FL!!) I want cold weather, damnit!!

I've got a colder t-stat and programming, and my car sits at 175-180F most of the time.

interesting info. however, i have 1 question, as far as the stock lid airflow velocity being higher than the aftermarket ones (probably mostly due to smaller area.) does this not mean that the aftermarket lids are causing the pcm to increase spark timing (less airspeed @ MAF = less engine load.) isn't that the point of the aftermarket ones?

PSJ: Sounds like you wouldn't have any cooling issues.

Other questions:

No I did not test the whisper kit. Since it is a CLONE of the first version of the FTRA, it would be pointless
