I don't think it will be too much for ya. Mine with 50* overlap is a baby at idle.

My concern lies in the stock heads, gasket with a 110LSA+0.

It will produce a low DCR. Plugging in my advertised specs of my 224 cam it's in the 7.8 range. If you can supply the advertised .006 specs of your cam I can get you some more accurate info.

? i'd like to know that too. and a thinner gasket on top of that might bump compression a bit.

Your DCR will be around 7.86-1 with stock heads, gasket and the 224 110+0
While not optimum it will still run fine, you'll just be leaving easy power on the table.

Stock LS6 heads would help, but not enough gain for the money and time spent doing the head swap. Wait on the heads until you can get a set you want.

I've done a lot of research, and the 110 LSA should make that a great street cam. A couple things that can help you get your goals:

With the stock heads, advance the cam 4 degrees (106 ICL), that should bump your DCR a little bit. The advance will cost you some top-end HP for a better punch down low. You are better off with that than a 112 or 114 IMO.

Otherwise, you could pull the heads and have them milled about .020" and put it back together with .040" thick Cometic gaskets. Then you can run that cam straight up for the best balance between mid-range and top-end.

If you have some money to spend on your stock heads, it is best spent on a quality multiangle valvejob and perhaps a back-cut on the valves. Thar should definitely put you over 400rwhp / 400rwtq.

i know predator and patrick g have been recommending the 110 lsa cams alot. but i just thought how stout a 224 cam on a 110 would be. i know i still need more to learn on cams but i think a 224 on a 110 would be pretty damn mean!!
