Default On the LS1 engine.....

on the driver side cylinder head at the front of the head, is that brass bolt sticking out with the sensor in it the water temp fitting?? If so, I've found where to install my Autometer mechanical water temp gauge.

Yep, water temp. found that out when I accidentally left the sensor unplugged after changing plugs.

Yes. You'll have to have a fitting to keep the stock sensor also, though. And I've heard you cannot tap into the existing sensor wire to run a separate gauge. There are other places on the block to put a fitting, if you'll do a search you'll find a thread.

Well this was my thought. Find a Y fitting that will screw into the head and on one point of the Y screw back in the stock sensor and on the other point screw on the Autometer sensor. Will this work or will I have an inaccurate reading??

in the passenger side head there is an open port for the temp gauge.

Thanks for the replies guys, i appreciate them. Is the port youre talking about on the passenger side head where the port is on the drivers side head??

between the last two exahust ports it looks like an Allen head bolt going into the side of the head.
