Part # for the metal tube in the middle of the rad. hose
I have a 99 and it just has a regular old radiator hose, and I noticed on some newer F-bodies that there is a long metal tube in the middle of the radiator hose with a flange in the middle I believe. Does anyone know the part number for the metal part. Why do some cars have this and others don't

That metal tube is the power steering pump cooler. About the only f-bodies you will find it on is the SS and WS6/Firehawk, and maybe on the 1LE optioned cars.
Ron,
Oh, and you don't need to have a brand new f-body to get one. They were used back in 98, again, on WS6 and SS cars.

You can get a PS pump cooler from any one of the numerous salvage yards that speacilises in F-body parts. They are not that expensive, but they do give you that much of a performance advantage either. I would just ad a small trans cooler along the front left side of the car, same place the air box from the LT1s had it's pick up. Some braided metal hose for plumbing and your set.

I have a feeling he more than likely don't even want a PS cooler. I don't think he was sure of what is was in the first place. I may be wrong.
