We also tried it on another '98 Camaro and it didn't work either. This was the latest revision of LS1-EDIT also, version 97.

MTI needs to email Ken about that. He sent a friend of mine a version of LS1_Edit that wouldn't open up a '98 A4 file yesterday - Ken had to send a patch.
The version Ken sent me opens '98 files just fine. No more SES light for me! 6500 rev limit! No more cold idle open loop popping! And as soon as the driveshaft gets here, rescaled for the 4.10's...

The programmer is not a real time scanner tool.
IHMO you still need a solid designed PCM scanner/ monitor that not only does OBD-II but also the enhanced G.M DTCs.
I suggest the Ease G.M enhanced powertain scanner, much better designed scanner tool that works well within MS Windows and not only saves a recorded trace but also saves a report as to any stored DTCs, freeze frames, I/M status, and 02 status.

Hmmm, I was supposed to get some LS1-EDIT dyno tuning on my '98 Formula this past weekend and MTI had just received the software upgrade for '97-'98 cars. It would not work, it said something about not being familiar with the file type and that we had to email a copy of the PCM download to the code writer to check out.
We also tried it on another '98 Camaro and it didn't work either. This was the latest revision of LS1-EDIT also, version 97.

Tony, there are many builds that GM uses on these ECUs. If it's a known build, LS1-edit will recognize it and let you edit, but if it's an unknown build it doesn't let you edit it in order to avoid damage to the ECU. If you encounter such a file, send it to the carputing guys and they will make the necessary changes so it can be used.

I believe Jayson received the patch to modify my files. Can't wait to get this thing tuned up!
