Mods installed on C5 - got 371 rwhp with stock heads - ideas to get to 385-390??
Mods are in my sig (with stock heads and stock cats)- looking to add some more bolt ons to get up to 385-390 rwhp with stock heads. Here are a few of my ideas:
1) cat delete (Off Road x-pipe?)
2) MAFT
3) Ported TB
4) hypertech power tuning
I live in CA - so I am wondering if removing the cats is a stupid idea (its a daily driver and I have never smelled a car without cats - is it that bad?) Also, the sound concerns me as the car is loud as hell as is.....do I replace the cats with straight pipes or x-pipe? Also, I can use the hypertech tuning - anyone gain hp with this thing? I am currently using it for RPM limiter only....please give me opinions guys, thanks!

Cat delete- go for it
MAFT- go for it
Ported TB- Go for it
hypertech tuning- Don't you dare
I recommend ATAP to tune that MAFT properly, and those eradispeed rotors should free up a few rwhp....
Maybe a carbon fiber driveshaft and aluminum flywheel will help a bit too.

And if you really wanna see those numbers put skinnies on the rear when you dyno, and swap in some 2.73 gears <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

Oliver, hey it's Tony. I saw you that day at Andy's when you picked up your Vette, it sounds sweet! Yes I would recommend off road pipes, long tubes even with cats are emissions illegal in California so you might as well, Mark has ATAP software I recommend getting a ported TB and then a MAFT and have Mark adjust your A/F Ratio. Not too many people have seen any gain from a carbon fiber driveshaft or an aluminum flywheel, I wouldn't go that route. You may want to go to MMS and get some custom tuning, check out Illusion's car in Western Members section of LS1.com, he gained 10rwhp from MMS custom tuning. Hope this helps. ~Tony

LS1 Edit, we have seen what LS1 Edit will do on mild bolton cars.
Yours will most certainly gain from an LS1 Edit session.
