Default bore question

How far can you bore an LS1 over before you start having to resleeve the block? Or start running into problems such as getting the cylinder walls too thin?

thanks

3.910 is the max bore for a 2002 LS1 per the book I have sitting in front of me. Some people have gone more yest but that is the max reccomended amount without resleeving. 98 and some early 99 models have the thin walled cylinders which cannot be bored as much.

3.903>3.905 for earlier blocks, 3.910 is a good solid bore on later ones.

So i take it that if you wanted to make it at least a 4in bore you would either have to resleeve it of go for an LS2 block. Prolly be wiser to go with an LS2 block.
