Default swapping 01 LS1 into 98 SS

HELP what do I need for my car to pass smog when swapping a 01 LS1 into a 98 camaro SS besides knowing that the 01 does not come with the egr system and the LS6 manifold does not accept it either?

Yeah, you dont need EGR with the 01. As far as stock style emissions, AIR system, small Cam (if its been changed), CATS in factory locations for visual. Stuff like that. Oh and make sure your SES light isnt on.

Then of course it also depends on the state that you are in.

IIRC, you have to run it all in 98 form as per AIR/EGR schematic for that year. To be 100% legit.

In CA, you will need to show that EVERYTHING from the 2001 is hooked up (so you can get away w/ the non-EGR intake), that means AIR, cats, pretty much all emission control devices, then have it smogged as a 2001. I don't remember what its called, but you need to get an "Engine Change" form filled out and signed off. You might have a problem cause the 98 has a metal gas tank and the 99+ have plastic ones.
