Default RPM's Dropped Under 500, and Oil Pressure Dropped

I started my car, and the RPMs dropped under 500. The car died, and then I started it again, but it didn't die. But on idle the engine ran at about 500 rpm.

I got home and checked the oil, it was about a qt low after 1,400 miles (my car has the infamous oil consumption), so i added about half a quart and it seemed to remedy the problem...was one quart short really the cure? And does the PCV valve fix really work?

I can't tell you about your oil problem, but if you want to stop burning oil then do the PCV valve fix.

Before the mod I burned oil like no other. I constantly had oil in my intake, and burned about a quart every two weeks (~1000 miles, I know I drive it alot).

After the PCV mod, installing a new PCV valve and two inline filters, no oil consumption at all. I now only check my oil on the occassion that I think of it, not every time I go out. Additionally, no oil in the intake. I defiantly recommend it. It only takes about 2h and 20 bucks.

I'd a 1/2 qt over until you fix your problem.

I'd try some pcv mods.

Stop by the MFBA display at WOW and I will explain some issues with the pcv system.
