Crossdrilled?? Slotted?? Stock?? Slotted & Cross drilled??
I need new rotors and pads, and was wondering what kind would be the most effecient rotor. I drag race occasionally, and am going to try a little bit of road courses this summer.
The KVR x-drilled, powerslot slotted rotors are the main two I am looking at, but I am very open to your peoples opions.'
thanks

If you go for KVR's get blank rotors, no holes or slots. Otherwise, get any good quality rotor, NAPA, Raybestos etc. With older pad compounds, when braking at high speeds, gases were released and the cross drilling was to make an escape route for them. It's not a problem with modern pad compounds. Cross drilling weakens the rotor and increases possibility of cracking. Whatever rotor you buy, it will be "green" and should be seasoned by bringing up to temps gradually and then let cool. Get on Baer's website http://www.baer.com and download their instructions for seasoning rotors. Look in the FAC section.

Yep, the only cross-drilled rotors I would suggest are ones of the type Baer makes - where the holes are cast in the rotor as opposed to drilled.
Some have also had good luck with getting to rotors cryoed.
