WOW these things look nice <img src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" /> I know this has been asked a million and one times, but with just a cam and bolt ons, should I go 2.5" or 3" with the y pipe? I would like to make this thing a torque monster but don't want to sacrifice much up top. I was planning on 3" piping into mandrel bent pieces into a flowmaster collector, 3" in 3" out. And also, do mandrel bends help that much?

If you plan on getting heads/cam or even just a cam, I would go with the 3" y-pipe. If you just plan to stay bolt-on, go with the 2.5" y. Do mandrel bends whichever size you decide to go with.

Yes. Otherwise you will have a crush in the Y-pipe which will make it perform like a narrower pipe. Use a shop that make them or buy some premade ones from Jegs/Summit and weld them up.

I have the thunder racing 224/112lsa cam so I suppose I should try and have the 3" y fitted. Anyone know the best place to buy the mandrel bends pre bent since my exhaust shop doesn't have a mandrel bender?

Didn't see your post Ragtop, Jegs/Summit has them then. I will check it out then. Should I have the slip on flanges welded onto the collector and y pipe? Wouldn't that be tighter with less chance to leak than just clamping them?
