You gonna run 17x11 Torq Thrust IIs? I currently have 17x9.5 TT II's all around. It's great cuz I can swap the 17x11s in for the summertime and they'll still match

Good choice, if that's what you plan on getting

Hmmm I've never heard that. It may be true, but I DO know that American Racing makes their own line of wheels, none of which I've ever seen resemble the wheels that SLP offers. It could very well be possible though I'm sure.

If you want some 17x11s made out of your Firehawk wheels, I'd have them custom done. I've seen 2 webpages of guys who have made their Firehawk/WS6 wheels into 17x11s. It's fairly expensive, if I remember correctly, but it worked fine. I'd give ya the links if my computer didnt die this morning. I'm on my brother's POS

Hey, I hate to get off-topic here but does anyone know of a battery box that will pass tech? I'm planning on getting an optima moved out back, so I need something that is cool with those batteries. I *THINK* they are top post....

I used 1/0 welding cable, which is about $2/foot, and is ery flexible. The cable is completely encased inside 3/4" "nonmetalic electrical tubing" (blue plastic flex-tube from Home Depot). Including the battery box, terminal and transition boxes, clamps and other parts it was about $120. It was a little less than 16 feet for each cable. The cables went through the body at the left-top-side of the spare tire well, with 2 offset-type electrical boxes bolted to the body, so the cables do not get sawed through by vibration over time, and then the cables go up to the front along the right frame rail and subframe connector. The cables were crammed into a space at the top of the rear wheel well, but I screwed a sheet metal shield over the cables to protect from stones in the wheel well.

Actually, I was told that they were the company that supplied SLP with the wheels to the Firehawk. I wanna get a pair custom made to 17 x 11's so the car will have the same "stock" wheels (I like my wheels ).

If I was given misinformation about the company, anyone feel free to correct it; I want these wheels BAD

I'll probably end up running 315 nittos in the summer and 275 RE730s in the wintertime, so it won't be TOO bad.

I get to run 'em all year long down here

Found it. It was a WS6.

http://www.ws6.com/wheels.htm

Not bad, only 225$ a wheel.

It looks like the only issue would be clearance. Since all the extra width of the wheel would be on the inside (it would still have the same offset as stock), you'd NEED to run spacers.

I saw that link on slp forums. A guy replied that this was a bad idea. He said he worked for the government in tire/wheel safety testing. Supposedly it's not even street-legal to widen a wheel because of the danger of whatever

The price is right though

If anyone can contradict what the guy stated about safety issues, I'm game for this mod

I need to have the safety thing confirmed . . . I drive fast AAAAAAAAAAALL the time . . . just ask my lawyer
