Intake: ’01 99 grams, ’02 76 grams or –23 grams
Exhaust: 86 vs. 63 or –23 grams

Springs:
All LS1 seat/open: 76/220; rate: 305; wire: round, chrome/silicon;
6200rpm cut-off
‘01 LS6 seat/open: 90/259; rate: 322; wire: oval, chrome/silicon/vanadium; 6600 cut-off, 6800-7000 float
‘02 LS6 seat/open: 90/294 (@ .551); rate: 370 info from Chevy, ~350 measured; wire: oval, chrome/silicon/vanadium; 6600 cut-off

The ’02 valve stem seals are a one-piece design. '01's use a shim under the valve, '02's have the shim integrated into the seal design.

I own these parts, but have not installed them in my C5 Coupe yet.
Have fun, go fast,
Steve

’01 Z06 springs use the same steel wire as LS1 but wound tighter for a higher spring rate.

Your first sentence reads the LS1 and LS6 spring are same save for different winding (wrong), but then continues on describing how they are completely different (right). Just pointing it out.

Hi,

"’01 Z06 springs use the same steel wire as LS1 but wound tighter for a higher spring rate. "

Thanks for checking me on that. It doesn’t make sense as you point out. Both of those statements came from Chevy PR info, but they obviously are not both true. I have also found a problem with the ’02 spring rate also. Chevy rates them at 370 lbs/inch but mine measured out at an average of ~350. Does anybody else have #'s on '02 LS6 springs?
Thanks again,
Steve
