Default Strange stuff after header install...

I had the macs with high flows installed on my car. Now my car is hesitating like crazy when I nail it and backfiring like crazy. Anyone know what may have caused this to happen. It seems like I have no power now. WTF? ANyone?

it sounds like you have a leak somewhere. Mine used to do that until I fixed an annoying leak.

yup a leak will allow the O2's to read the wrong sending the wrong signal and in turn adjust the air/fuel wrong. Also look to make sure the spark plug wires are on tight to the plug. One other possibility is this... After I had my SLP LT headers installed one of my O2's went bad I could tell by AutoTap I bought a new one and it was fixed.

Maybe a spark plug wire came loose or got burnt?

Now that I think about it...that almost 100% is the case. I was getting nervous thinking something was really wrong. I have a real bad leak in my exhaust that I was gonna replace it today and hopefully cure the problem.

Make sure none of your wiring harnesses are laying on or are too near the headers. You may have cooked some wiring. That's pretty common too.

By the way. O2s Read Exshaust in Relation to OUT SIDE OF THE O2. It compares. Exshaust Leak? Off readings. Oil burn smoke?( oil on manifolds/pipe) OFF READINGS. Remember how it works. Hopes this helps.

Ditto! That is cool that it was something cheap and simple.

BADWS6(Steve)- Here's the $100 dollar question:
So you changed the plugs out, how about the wires? Take a look to see if they keep those little heat sheilds around the stock wires (if you kept your stock wires). So you don't end up melting them down the road.

Peace,
Craig.

Crager-haven't checked the heat shields yet...I'll let you know. You'll find out what the result will be when I get the cam installed in the next couple weeks...
