Default no oil pressure in crate motor

Hey all
I bought a crate motor for a project about 2 years ago and am just getting it fired up. it was a factory replacement that only came up to 10 psi when installed and removed and sold to me. I opened it up and it looked good, so I replaced the oil pump and went to put the pan back on and the pick up tube was hitting the bottom of the pan, so I gave it 5/8 clearance and reassembled it thinking that I had fixxed the problem. It fired yesterday and no oil pressure. Any ideas./ I have a lot of money in this motor for it not to go and am trying to make a show. It has pulled oil into the filter and seems to have weak pressure but not much\
thanks

here's some things i forgot to put in my first LS1 motor build that prevented me from getting oil pressure. might want to look for those.

the rear oil galley plug

which goes here. this required me removing the trans again.

goes in like this

then there's a front 15.68mm plug that goes in the front side of the oil galley.

it looks to me that i would have a leak if that was missing. You have to pull the tranny? Can you tell if they are in by removing the oil pan? thanks

no, those are behind the front and rear covers. so, you will not see any leaks because it will be contained inside the motor.

thanks for your help I have 4 years in this project and have about had it. I had a great L-88 to put in it and got talked into this. It has been a nightmare, but I think that when it is all said and done I will be happy with it. I have done a Grand sport replica with this setup. Thanks for your help and have a great year

the crank looked good as did the cam bearings. I was hoping that it was not a casting issue. I guess the worst thing would be having to go to a stroker ls2 or a mallet motor. I am over $100k on this thing so nothing will stop me now

How about the O-ring on the pickup tube... try replacing it and be sure it doesn't get pinched while securing the pickup tube.

I had problem with my used LS1 that was sitting around for about 9-10 months and after replacing the O-ring and oil pump with a LS6 pump.. all returned to normal (if not more pressure now)
