could it be a custom grind? someone just called up and ordered it that way? I would retard it too, since the car is so light and that cam should build excellent low end torque generally anyway. you'll be needing traction more then the slight shift in torque numbers down low. plus I believe it would idle smoother w/o the advance built in? someone correct me if Im wrong.

Depends on what you want. 114ICL will make more peak power because of the better intake valve closing point, but the dynamic compression will be lower, hurting average power and low/mid-range torque. With a light car, you'd probably be faster with the cam in at 114.

But, change how you refer to advance and retard...
Straight up means no advance or retard (in this case 114 ICL)
Dot to dot means installing the cam as-ground (which is what you were referring to as straight up).

Straight up = 114 ICL
Dot to dot = 112 ICL
2 degrees advanced = 112 ICL
advanced 2 degrees from dot to dot = 110 ICL
retarded 2 degrees from dot to dot = 114 ICL

Thanks for the input guys. I'm pretty sure it's a custom grind, I just don't know what lobes it has.

Patrick - Your right, when I said "straight up" I did mean installing it "as ground". I think using as ground is much better terminology than what I was using. I think I will install it as ground to help with the dynamic compression and low-end grunt for my daily driver.

Either way I'm glad I picked up the cam. It should be a good DD cam with not much lope and good torque. The guy I picked it up from said he maid 397rwhp from a stock LS1 vette with just an LS6 intake and a cold-air intake system. So, I think it will work pretty well.

Grind #: LS1 3760R / 3760R HR114+2
Serial No: Y9807

Gross Valve Lift: .588/.588
Duration at .006: 265/265
Duration at .050: 216/216
Lobe Seperation: 114
Installed at 112 intake centerline

I've looked at PianoProdigy's excel spreadsheet and can't find the lobes in any of the listings and I never found it on the Comp website either so I don't know what ramps it has. I'm starting to think that it my actually have XFI lobes, but maybe someone else can tell me.

The card says More Performance, Inc. I haven't been able to find that shop on the internet either so I don't know if they're still around.

More Performance is an existing shop in Charlotte, NC. I'm sure with the right keywords, you can find them on google.
