Default ELECTRICAL experts, PART 2: Weird result, but good news "I think"

For those of you who read this thread....

https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...c&f=1&t=002820

The general consensus was that I fried the computer. Well, tonight I plugged the Camaro cluster back in, turned on the key and......The car FIRED RIGHT UP. Runs fine. All the guages work, etc....

However, I am still getting a snap crackle and pop sound right when turning the key to the on position, and it fades about 5 second later. I KNOW something isn't right after that pop and smoke came about, any ideas on what I could have fried up under there?

Have you had someone hover over your engine bay when you turn the ignition to on so that they could pinpoint it?

I guess that would be a good idea lol. I have tried standing outside the car while turning on the key, but I can't see ****. Being electronically illiterate, this could be tough

Maybe it's something unrelated like a bad ground?

Do you have autotap? You could check to see if any DTC's were thrown. Any check engine lights?
