I thought the '00's had .500/.500 for the lift.

I guess my '01 cam is just a teeny tiny blower cam.

LS1derfull, sorry sir but YOU are incorrect. The lift for the F-body cam is .500/.500. The Y-body cam is a .472/.479 spilt for a supposedly smoother idle and for the dual exhaust.

In '01 the F-body cam was changed and I am pretty sure it is smaller than .500/.500 lift so you can't just say the f-body has one cam for all the years.

Directly from my 02 FSM [sec.5.7L Unit Repair pg 6-497]

cam lobe lift-Intake: .324
cam lobe lift-Exhaust: .322

What's the math to get to the typically published spec? The manual dosen't specify if that's at .006 or .050 or anything, just states the actual lobe lift at the cam. I thought that number is multiplied by rocker ratio, which put's it at .550 & .547
???

In the event that it makes any difference....keep in mind that the '98-'00 F-body LS1s had EGR while the '01-'02s, as well as all C5 LS1s, did not. There were/are provisions on the cam for each respective application.

The o1's and 02's have a smaller cam than the previous year F-bodies due to not having an EGR setup.

Ahhh.... you are so right. My bad... guess I shouldn't be trying to flip through the service manual too quickly early in the morning.

Corrected data: [FSM pg 6-491]
lobe lift-intake: .274
lobe lift-exhaust:.281

With the correct factor for rocker ratio of 1.7, that's .466I, .478E.
Yup....I like the Z06 cam spec's better!

Firesquawk, my specs are correct, this info is right off GM SI2000 website, under 2001-2002 fbody engine specs, this is the same cam as 6.0 litre truck engine cam. This is fact and im sorry if you disagree.

I copied this down not too long ago:

We put the cam that came out of Jason99TAs motors on the Cam Doctor last weekend and it was 200/210 499/499 117lsa.
