Aftermarket 1.85 Roller Rockers: Are they worth it?
I saw an add in LPE's catalog for the 1.85's for the LS1. They claim about 10 percent more lift. Wouldn't this also increase the duration too?
Isn't the stock cam is about .500 and 200 @ 50?
Would the 1.85's increase this to .550 and 220 @ 50?

The stock cams Duration is around 200 (depends on year) @.050. The stock cams lift is about .500 (depends on year also)
The larger Roller rockers would bring the lift to around .544 and have no affect on the duration of the cam. If you plan on getting the larger rockers you will have to upgrade your valve springs as well to accomodate the extra lift. Another thing to consider is that a lot of cams on the market for the LS1 are not recomended to be used with the larger rockers because of the aggressive ramp rates of the cams.
I read in an article about an LS1 car that tried these rockers out and made something like 9~11 rwhp from the rockers and springs.
It is basically a waste of money when you can just buy a cam with more lift and duration and make more power with that than you could with the rockers.

Rockers will increase duration off of seat about 5 degrees at .050", same seat timing. I think rockers would be a waste especially because you dont want this ratio on exhaust , and if you go with a decent cam later you wont be able to use them.
