Single or Split pattern cam?
Judson is an intake duration man. The cam in his 418 has a more aggressive lobe on the intake (more lift for a given duration) than the exhaust, hence the split cam with less lift on the exhaust. We almost chose a cam like that for my SS...a 224, .581 lift XE-R lobe on the intake and a 228, .571 XE lobe on the exhaust...but then, we decided a single pattern XE-R 226/226, .585/.585 would make more power and have better idle than the 224/228, .581/.571 cam.
