Anyway doesn't 446rwhp SAE seem a bit low for LS6 heads/large cam? Here is a car that for example makes similar power with LS1 heads and an undoubtably milder 224v3 camshaft.

Maybe your power will pickup when you open the exhaust, although the Z06 exhaust isn't all that bad as long as you gut the cats.</strong><hr></blockquote>

Terry, that MMS dyno has a VERY obvious dyno spike. A car here in Houston put down 447/421 with LS6 heads and a 224 cam, so these numbers are entirely believable. Hell, I am making way more rwtq than both the MMS and Cartek car, so who knows what I will get out of my combo before I am done?

I agree on the spike, I didn't notice that before I posted it. Regardless, I've seen plenty of 440rwhp SAE cars around here. Your statement supports my claim, that Cartech's results are not "special".

Currently great barometer conditions? If you mean Houston, our location at about sea level means that we always get *hit* when using SAE corrections because our surface pressure (outside of a hurricane) is always higher than the SAE specification of 990 hPa - that's never going to change regardless of the current weather. The SAE standard does not help you here. For example, my car pulled 527 RWHP uncorrected, but only 491 SAE corrected (but the air was also cool that day which increased the normal SAE hit).
<hr></blockquote>

I mixed SAE and STD in my post above. The main theme of my argument is there are areas (like Texas at this time of year) that have abnormally good barometer pressure. Those places will show abnormally high STD figures. That is why we use the SAE correction.

Don't be so jealous terry. The guys at cartek have a great package, and you can't seem to accept that. Give credit where credit is do. Thumbs up to Cartek <img src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" /> .

Hmmmm did you post what that MMS car ran in the quarter yet. - max

Those are some EXCELLENT results! I'm also glad to see that the 2002 LS1 Edit has been released. <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0"> It's time to start playing with the PCM on my own. Definitely keep us posted on the setup Julio.
Terry - Just because you and JS can't agree on anything doesn't mean that you have to have a personal vendetta against Cartek. If this was another certain shop making this power, you'd be posting it everywhere you could. When Julio posted SAE AND STD corrections, I don't see how that's misleading. If someone doesn't understand the difference, then I would expect them to ask. Were you misled? <img src="gr_tounge.gif" border="0">

Terry,

I still don't know what you mean by "Texas at this time of year." While there is some seasonality to surface pressures, the net station/location average is going to be relatively invariant compared to locales at different elevations. For example, actual surface pressures in Houston will range from around an average of 1014 hPa in summer to around 1018 hPa in winter. This is a far cry from the 990 hPa values used in the SAE correction. But this is so far off the subject of this post that I am not sure that this is worth taking up anymore thread space.

<strong>Very, very nice results! 446 RWHP SAE from heads/cam is really impressive. I noticed that the peak torque of 402 RWTQ (SAE) is not out-of-line with what you would expect from a stock cubed engine with heads/cam and no power-adders, but the peak RWHP is up in the stratosphere. That tells me that you have designed a package that is breathing/flowing exceptionally well.

Congrats!</strong><hr></blockquote>

It's was too fat at torque peak (12.2/1 AF), I'm still beta testing the 2002 LS1-edit, I have some runs with 410 RWTQ SAE but the RWHP was 444 SAE. We are taking the mufflers off and retuning today, Ill post later.

Terry, the SAE numbers are posted along the STD numbers. Would you like me to put a "PG" rating or maybe even an "X" rating on it? Just look away if you don't like it. LOL.

Thanks for the info Julio. I figured you were using a different cam between the two different head types. And I stumbled upon JS' dyno with the stage 2-x setup. Hs is putting down good numbers too with an auto (probably is even higher now). So I guess this is just results of evolving development. Along with the LS1 Edit tuning like Tony mentioned.

How "street friendly" is the cam? Any hints on duration, LSA specs? The power coming from these things is getting to be extremly amazing!!

Here are the numbers with no mufflers on the car but the exhaust pipes are still on.

451.5 RWHP & 410.5 RWTQ SAE corrected --->Link to SAE dyno numbers.

465.2 RWHP & 423.1 RWTQ STD corrected --->Link to STD dyno numbers.

471.8 RWHP & 429.1 RWTQ Actual HP ------->Link to Actual RWHP dyno numbers.

The SAE correction factor was 0.96, BP 30.36 in.Hg., VP 0.052 in.Hg., Temp 75.7 F.

Man, oh man, some people argue just for the sake of arguing, and cannot seem to give anyone any credit or respect.

Gotta hand it to Cartek, they have obviously done their homework and put together a very nice package.

Wow, that thing peaks pretty early. Exactly where I'm wanting mine to peak at. Sounds like a good package and if mine doesn't work out I might be giving you a call.

Trevor I have no problem with Terry. He just likes to come into my posts and start BS.Have u seen me post in here other than to say CONGRATS to JULIO?

I'm done with all that.Julio is a big boy and can handle himself. He surely doesnt need me creating more BS.So I'll sit back and allow Terry to continue to make an *** of himself.I know what my car is producing.I have no reason to get involved.

Definitely got some more power and torque. Congrats again - impressive power for basically a heads/cam setup.
