Tapping Sound Not Related To Piston Slap

Hey fellas, my engine appears to have developed a tapping sound comming from the drivers side of the engine.. After driving 30 miles to work I noticed this sound I opened the hood and took a closer listen and did not like the sound. Any idea what this could be? The car is stock with the exception of a few bolt on mods and the only thing I have done in the last week is have the car dynoed. The oil level is also just fine and running M1 5w30w. During the dyno, the rev limiter was hit 4 times in a row which shouldnt hurt the engine. The FRA mod has also been done. I was about to have a T-1 cam installed Sunday until this occurred so I figured I should have this fixed while the car is under warranty ( 5.5k left ) The car is not lacking power as far as I can tell and I am thinking it is either pushrods or lifters.. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks, Sawacs
Darn, thought my sig was working..

Tapping - could be:
1) Rocker arm
2) Lifter(s)
3) Injector
4) Slightly bent pushrod
or
more serious
5) Knock caused by spun/worn bearing
There is no telling what it could be, but some of the first four are not that serious and/or not something that needs to be fixed. To top it off, sometimes LS1's just plain have noisy valvetrains.
If the knock sounds like something deep in the engine and sort of hard (like a mallet tapping a pipe or similar), then you might need to worry about it being a bearing. Anyone else know how to describe these any better?

I had a ticking sound for as long as I remember owning my car. You could really hear it idling beside a wall. It disappeared when I installed a T1 cam with new pushrods and valve springs. My pushrods didnt look bent but I didnt roll'em on glass. So I'm not sure what was causing it but it's gone now.

Guessing 99 model just from mileage
possible lifter problem? Rollers don't
usually develope problems, my guess
would be contaniment in lifter. Dirt,
or ? Guess would be try dino oil, some
motors don't have the close tolerances
from factory to handle syn. They leave
the line with max.tolerances and wear
increases those
