Default Car is at ARE for the new changes :)

Dropped the car off at ARE for the new changes for this season.

Going with 5.3L 11.2:1 comp heads with 2.02 and 1.60 valves

226/234 557/575 lift 112LSA cam
(Was going to try the XE-R cam but I wanted to see if there would be any issues with the aggressive lobes on that cam before diving into it. Also the cam is delayed about 2 weeks.)

ASP crank and Alt pullies

Custom 3 inch offroad Ypipe for MAC headers

3 inch cutout and dynomax Ultra flo welded muffler

Right rear airbag

Other changes coming include a Wolfe 6 point cage, Centerline rims and Hoosier 26x9 inch slicks, harlan shiftlight and a little weight reduction to offset the cage.

Car should be ready for Friday, thanks again to Nick and the guys at ARE for their great service!
Looking forward to even stronger times this season!
Cheers,
Chris

So will a track be available for this weekend, or are you Canadians still buried in snow? It sounds like a strong setup. Good luck with it, and let us know the results!

hmmm...
That is a good question and I hate to guess times before actually running the car at the track. (Bench racing is bad

I think it is safe to say that sub 11.40@119-123mph should be attainable provided I can hook and make a clean pass. Traction has been my big problem even with the old combo. The 4L70 with TP4400 and 12 bolt with spool and 4.11's require a decent hooking track to say the least.
I am hoping the RR airbag and new slicks will help a lot in that department
Thanks again,
Chris

You definatly change your setups very often good luck on the new setup. Can I ask why you went with so much lift and duration on the exhaust side? Not ******* your choice but it seems like the LS1's dont need as much on the exhaust side. Like I said Im not ragging on your choice, I will be in the market for a cam soon and want to know as much about them as possible before buying ya know

Sean

haha
This is only my second setup ever on the car
Originally I was SC'ed (11.3@126-127mph) with 4#'s boost, six speed and S1 heads and cam but decided to sell the blower and go NA.

The new heads and cam will help max out my NA performance.
Thanks
Chris

ps- The cam was selected due to the blue bottle that might be eventually added next season

I will be in contact with Nick today and will ask about flow nmbers.
Also my heads are an aggressive stage 1 head. Not stage 2. I made a mistake in my earlier post with the valve size. The exhaust valve is only 1.57 and I think the intake valve is 2.02 but I am not positive. (Will find out today)
The compression is approx 11.2:1.
I will get numbers and get back to you. I am excited to hear how it runs.
Thanks,
Chris
