Default Hotcam passes emissions in CT

Just had to go through emmissions. I know alot of guys ask if the hotcam will pass emissions.
WELL HELL YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!

HC MAX LIMITS 72.0
ACTUAL HOTCAM READINGS 11.8

CO MAX LIMITS .40
ACTUAL .05

NO MAX LIMITS 531.0
ACTUAL 17.8

So I'd say it passes with flyin colors. Just wanted to ally some guys fears of putting a cam in thier car. They also do a check for cats, but not for location, long as you got cats your cool! FLP longtubes for me!!!!!! <img src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" /> <img src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" /> <img src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" />

yeah, I was a little worried , cause I've done some searches and never got a straight answer. Always something like- My B1 passes or My T1 passes, but never saw the Hotcams owners pipe up. <img src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Hey I'm from CT as well...where did you get inspected? And also I don't see headers in your sig how do you know they didn't check for location if your cats weren't moved? Just curious 'cuz I'd love to find an excuse to get some headers.

Thanks man!

They have a mirror, all they did was see if you had the cats, Anyways, they seemed pretty cool, The loudmouth was no big deal! They likeed the way it sounded! It was really in the way they looked, I got the impression they didn't know where they were supposed to be anyway.

is this on an IM240 dyno test?

Cuz here in IL, it's the IM240 on the dyno rollers, and without cats, no EGR, no AIR pump hooked up, etc. etc. on stock manifolds with hotcam, I failed miserably!
<img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

HC standard = .60
HC reading = 5.20 FAIL

CO standard = 10.0
CO reading = 18.2

C02 reading = 481

Apparently I had like 6 codes in my computer.
<img src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" />

The guys kept looking in my car to see where the SES light was.
LOL

Then, they advised me to take it to a mechanic becuz I could have some serious issues w/ all these codes.

not up to date on emmissions, but your HC is way high because you have no cats to burn unburnt fuel. they control one of the other emmissions, too, but i can't remember which.

That is not an IM240 test. The IM240 test gives you results in grams per "something." I can't find mine at the moment, sorry. Anyway, with those results given, I would be very willing to try that cam on an IM240 test.

Well, I KNOW that the HC are high becuz the lack of cats = the unburnt fuel, etc. etc.

Anyways, it's Grams Per Mile or (GPM).

In any case, I'd like to know how that compares w/ the numbers that CT uses. . .

Nox, oxides of nitrogen is the other emission that cats help control.

Well, I installed my cats and passed the IL IM240 test w/ flying colors.

My new numbers are

HC = .043
CO = .077
CO2 = 1.099
