Need help ASAP!!! Motor won't turn over!
Got everything hooked-up on the new motor today. Turned the key over several times without cranking it to build fuel pressure. Went to go start it and it wouldn't turn all the way over. Sounded like the battery was weak, so I charged the batter for about an hour, nothing. Rolled the truck down the driveway and tried to jump start it for about 30min., nothing. Went to Wal-mart and bought a brand new battery, nothing. Then I found a ground wire on the back of the block on the passanger side that I must have overlooked. Bolted it down to the back of the head. Nothing.
Is it possible that I flooded the motor trying to crank it so many times?
Could I have blown a fuse when the ground was disconnected? The other ground wires on the driver side ARE hooked up.
Anybody know of any ideas? Please help!!!

I see you have a Futral cam in there....you might be another victim of the Futral bad cam batch!
If it's one the the bad cams, it was ground 180 out so it won't start....I'd call Futral if it's a recent cam.
Good luck.

check the started itself.. if the engine turns over easily by hand and the started making noise trying to turn it- my guess would be a flywheel/starter issue.

Let's clarify - when you say it wouldn't turn all the way over - you mean it barely rotates, won't rotate, just clicks, doesn't click, turns over but won't fire?

Found the problem! Called Allan Futral and he said it was the VATS. Here is the procedure:
30 Minute Learn Procedure
1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON; the vehicle will not start.
3.Observe the SECURITY telltale; after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes; the vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
Important
The vehicle learns the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password.
With a scan tool, clear any DTCs, if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.

Excellent. So for future reference - it turned over but wouldn't fire.
Haven't heard of too many instances where VATS gets hosed due to cam swap so good to know.
