Have you dynoed the car yet? What kind of numbers is it putting down with the current setup? That info is somewhat important for us to determine if you are not running at full potential and even require a cam swap.

BTW, LS1Tech.com is hosting a dyno-day at MTI next Saturday (March 2nd).

I just dynoed at MTI yesterday and it cam up 360hp & 363 of torq. I dynoed 363hp last time & that was before the LS6 intake and computer reprograming.

IMHO Visit a tuner, do some A-tap
or the very least WB 02 readings.
You shouldn't have lost HP,get some
readings. <img src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" border="0" alt="[judgement]" />

I would suggest getting a bigger cam, if you even stepped up to a T1 you would see 400rwhp easily with programming... <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

BIGBOS beter look at that F1 system at
the end of sign.N20 doesn't like a really
large cam. Yes it will run great with one
but your just adding more to equation.
This is mt .02,So don't burn me <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

The sales guy at MTI wants to put the C1 cam in the car. Isn't that a pretty big cam? or should I go smaller?

well you say you wanted a bigger cam right? and you have a 216 or 218. The C1 is only 222/222 duration, not much bigger really. it will give you a bit more HP but possibly not worth the swap if money is a concern.

then you also have to think about springs. if you cam now only has 530 lift then the springs may not be suitable for the C1 as its like 561 or something around there.

I think there may be something wrong somewhere else though

That is just flat out misinformation. The T1 would give him only a few hp over what the 218'ish cam he has...if he's only doing 360 through a 2001 intake, headers, stage 2 heads, and cam, the problem lies somewhere else. I've never personally seen an issue where tuning takes 40rwhp from a car, but I guess anything is possible....

The redneck theory is that the bigger the cam the better, but it certainly wasnt the case on my car.

My feelings, something else is not set-up
right. That larger exhaust cam is usually
a plus on N20.(Helps clear cylinder)I would
do some logs and WB20 runs before ever
attempting cam change <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

What do you have exhaust wise? Maybe your restriction is there.
