Stage 1 or Stage 2 Heads?

Personally, I always tell people to do things right the first time and just spend a little more. Messing with internal motor mods is something you don't want to have to do twice because you didn't get the items you really wanted the first time around.

Don't get Ed Wright to do your tuning, MTI can handle that in house now and use their own LS1-EDIT programming.

<strong>Tony, sorry about the double post. I'm starting to get people telling me thats a lot of money for the heads. I realize the best parts , and experience , are not cheap. I really feel that it's worth paying for proven performance. Do we ever get any group purchases on this board with MTI? Do you have any idea what they get for programming? Thanks

As far as the heads go, I only remember MTI doing one group purchase for those. Their heads are in such high demand that they really have no need to do a gp. I know they do usually have a cam and install sale at least twice a year. As far as programming, goes, the last I heard is that it's around $500 or so. I don't know if the pricing has changed since ls1 edit came into the scene though.
I'm really not sure what they charge now that LS1-EDIT has arrived.
Paul, you are correct, you get what you pay for. Many of the other shops are still not using the custom dual-spring setup that MTI uses on their heads. These custom components add about $500 of parts and machining to the heads to utilize them. Only the best quality hardware is used, and you can be sure your heads have the same attention to detail that every one of theirs receive. MTI does not supply any other shops, and is very strict at maintaining consistency and quality control standards. You will not find an MTI heads/cam car owner that is not happy with the performance, and there are a TON of cars with the track times to prove it.
