Cam change ?
also when going with heads who are some good brands that yall have used and is it best to have them custom done or order them complete?
can you build up the stock heads to be as good as aftermarkets or aftermarkets better?
Daily Driven, or weekend car? I see you have both...
Stick or Auto? gears, stall?
Supporting Mods? Intake, headers, exhaust?
What are your goals? Dyno #, Track ET, Street Stealth, Rowdy Choppy Idle?
What kind of package do you want to end up with?
You may as well try to do the cam once if possible. The right cam can be installed 4 degrees advanced until you get the heads you want. Then setting the combustion chamber size correctly will allow you to install it straight up for the best gains with heads.
edit - Streetable is all relative to the quality of the tune and what you are willing to put up with. Some people don't mind 4400 stall converters and open exhaust, while some want as much power as you can make with totally stock manners. What are you willing to tolerate.

FWIW: I did a cam only swap and then a year later did heads. It was a great idea if you don't have the cash at the time. Glad I did it that way, so I know how the improvements were.
You absolutely do not want to skimp on the valvetrain for sure though. you can have a 400 rwhp cam only car and add the good heads and make it 440-450 with the right amount of money.

Get a high lift and a mild duration cam like a 230/234 .610/.625 110 (just an example) If you want the power, and useable at that. you could probably do a bigger duration due to the fact that you are running a steep gear.

Anything in that range will require a good tuner, but much more than the 230/234 on 110 that orangeapeel mentioned will be somewhat of a bear in stop and go with the best tune.
i dont necessarily drive it every day just as much as i can whether its to the store or just over to someones house cause i love that car.
Cam package was $689 from TS&P. I also bought a ported LS6 oil pump and LS2 chain and sprockets. Dont forget about the gaskets, too.
I did the swap myself so I saved a ton on labor. Also... factor in the little variables.. I lost one (go figure) valve lock and had to buy one ( .89 cents
) Dexcool, oil and filter, dowels to hold the lifters up, at least one pen magnet would be handy, ect.R/
