So when using the ARP bolts do I have to retourque them or are they good to go after I do it the first time? Also why is it if you use oil they have to be torqued to 85 rather than 75? Sorry for all the questions but I want to do this right. I'm waiting for a few more parts to get here and then it's going back togethor. I have the new cam in it already and all the front stuff back on. Going to clean the holes and the block tomarrow so I'll be ready when the trays arrive

If you do it correctly, torquing them once should be fine. The reason why you need to use 85 instead of 75 with oil is oil has a higher coefficient of friction than the ARP moly lube, therefore you need to apply more force to the bolt to get the correct amount of stretch.

Yes. It's a little tight but there is clearance.

Get the ARP's much easier to torque down. 3 passes and your good. Plus you can re-use them.

Your back will thank you later.

Use a "sharpie" to draw a line on the head of the bolt so you have a reference when you torque them.

Isn't that just with the GM bolts?

Yes, cause GM bolts require torqueing them to an angle as opposed to an absolute torque setting on a torque wrench.

Also, Ive been hearing a lot of horror stories about arp bolts recently. Might want to look into it before just assuming arps are indestructible.

When installing new GM bolts, just make sure the bolt holes are dry, clean, chase the threads, and dont put any side pressure on the bolt while torqueing it in. Im sure youll be fine.

Yes, i noticed that so I just went to 70. Maybe that is why people break them.
