Default snag during camswap.

Sooo... this is an akward question. I have a 222/224/112 camshaft and am running with Patriot Gold Dual valve springs and PRC titanium retainers and locks.

I dont have time to explain my problem, but would it hurt my engine to run on 15 Patriot Gold Dual Valve springs and 1 Ferrera (spelling?) Dual valve spring?

Like I said, its a small *** cam and the lift is only a 566 and both the Patriots and Ferrera are rated for a lift much larger than my cam.

Can I do this just for temporary use? I dont see why it wouldnt work.

I don't think you'd be risking a catastrophic failure, but that would unbalance the valvetrain. You have to keep in mind that the energy stored in the valvetrain oscillates from one spring to another, and that may cause some vibrations and other possible weirdness. On the other hand, it might not. I certainly wouldn't run the car hard until replacing the one spring.

I'd say an important bit of information here is going to be the differences in the springs, which I don't really know off the top of my head.

How long is "temporary"?

No pro here, but i'd greatly limit the use of engine just to be on safe side!

you will be fine.

It might be just a tad bit more pressure on your seats, but thats about it.

Just added protection..There is one solution though.....bigger cam.
