Re: Motor is back together, runs like crap... Low vaccum maybe why the MAF got a code. Gas coming out of tail pipe? Black smoke or dripping gas. Are injecters pulsing or staying on? You would have bent valves when you started up the motor Dave.
Do you have to give it gas on startup, like half-floored or more, and then it runs really crappy and rich?
Pushrods might be too long. Check lifter preload. What length pushrods are you running? I'm guesssing you should have 7.350's.

No Maf code now..
Getting only the p300 (random misfire right?)
Car missfires like freaking crazy... but isnt setting a code for it.. the SES doest flash like it would if it had a plug wire off.. but man it sure feels like 4 are off..
Timing is good, INjetor pulswidth is same numbers they were before.. thats good

HOWEVER.. ST Trims were -17 - -22 the car loads up like ad and wants to die.
The valvetrain is noisey as hell, Nick A said the new valvetrainer is lighter so it might be quieter.. <img src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" border="0">
i goin nuts here.. it will only idle on its own for about 2 mins and thats after you change the plugs...

Re: Motor is back together, runs like crap... Check to see if your rockers are coming into contact with the valve retainers. This could be bleeding off cylinder pressure and make it missfire like a ****. Lash caps...why? They could be hitting the bottom-side of the rockers. Maybe?

As far as i know the map is plugged in..
As far as the lash caps.. I have no idea why!!! NONE..
ARE says use 7.250 pushrods with 8o thou last caps

Re: Motor is back together, runs like crap... what kind of springs are on the heads? double? if so you need to clearance your 98 valve covers or it will hold open the valves on the 4 corners of the motor.. i would check this reguardless.. it happend to me. <img src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" border="0" alt="[barf]" />
