I couldn't agree with you more Joe about how well the cam drives on the street. Let us know when you get the converter in and take it to the track!

I run the MMS224v3.1 cam (which TR copied), and I've been very happy with it. Nice idle@850rpm in my A4, strong midrange, and it makes power up to 7000rpm. I can't wait to try out the MMS229v2.

"makes power up to 7000" where do you shift something like that?

Terry, as usual, you have no clue what you are talking about. How about backing your bold statements up with some factual info?? Anyone can sit behind a computer and talk out of their ***...

This is from memory so I might be off a bit, but peak HP is ~6300rpm in my car. I have my rev limiter set to 7200rpm, and at 7000rpm the power drops only ~10hp from the peak. I had been shifting @ 6400rpm on my previous best, but I recently figured out how to get the car to shift @ 6800rpm. It's set at 6800rpm now.

Sounds good Joe, but shouldn't you be working on MY car now. LOL It's results like this that have you at the forefront of LS1's. Keep up the good work.

What convertor would work best with that combo? I think with stock gears and in full weight trim a Vig 3200 might be a nice choice, or for a little more performance, the 3600 would be great.

Sounds good..
U and both know my TR with the 112 idled well too.R u guys gonna dyno this setup?

Vig 3600 or ST 3800 will work well for this setup along with 3.73's

Good luck

Well, I chose the Vig 3600 for obvious reasons I believe this converter flashes to 4,000 and I have had great results with it in my SS . I mentioned above that we are dyno test/tunning the car next week after the converter install Sat. This car will always remain stock weight with the posible addition of welds and skinnies.

Default Thunder 224 114 Cam A4

I drove our last project over the weekend for a few hours and today, the Thunder 224 114 cam is very streetable, no surge stall or offending emmisions from the tail pipes and comes up on RPM's very quick even without the Vig 3600. This car is a 2002 TA A4 with JPR S2 heads, FLP LT's with cats, Borla Cat back. The test drives are kind of useless even with the stock stall and stock gears (wich are being changed by the weekend) rolling the throttle to the floor just smokes off the F1 tires up to 80 MPH through second gear, once under traction, it pulls clean to 6700 RPM without missing a beat. This 2002 has great street manors with this package (driven normally haha!) but the fuel milage leaves a little to be desired for now until I get it on the dyno/WB soon to fine tune it a little more.

I haven't noticed anything about ECM programing.Is this a non-programing cam for an A4?

Here's a hint...stop flogging the car and your mileage will improve.

Look forward to seeing your dyno or track results soon.
