Who built your forged engine? Just doing more research...
For those of you with forged motors, who did you choose to rebuild it? Anyone here have theirs done by Exotic Performance? Just curious to see how well their engine rebuilds hold up and if there are any positives or negatives about them? I'm curious to know if their engine rebuild would be worth it in the long run, or if there are other options that may be better. EPP lists their rebuilds as being $5700 plus sales tax. I'm just curious as down the road I want to do things right the first time and not have to dish out more money than be necessary. I would rather spend more money upfront to have it done right than to take the cheap route and regret it down the road.

Speed Inc did mine. I have been very happy. Car runs great and all in the shop are great to work with.
I would avoid making a decision just base on price. Talk with a few shops and see who YOU feel comfortable with.

I wouldn't be basing it on price. I would base it on the fact that Bob from EPP seems to be extremely helpful and patient with not just mine, but everyones questions. Even if he understands you are not in the situation to purchase something now, he takes you seriously. Most other people would just tell you to talk to them when you're ready to buy something, atleast thats how it seems to me.

ME! As in build your own motor I did its not that hard. Get the machine work done by a reputable shop and assemble it in your garage. Get a good book on how to do it and keep everything clean and follow the intsructions to a T its not as hard and scary as everybody thinks. Nothing like the sense of pride when you start it up for the first time knowing you built it.

Otherwise, you might want to look into a local shop with a good reputation that could just do the motor and swap. Could save you a little money as they might be willing to buy the old motor off you(or reduce price overall) and you can(hopefully) drive to them when you have a problem.
My 2 cents,

I had FFHP build my LS6 347 but like others have said above I think I'll build my next one. There are a couple of places in town that have very good machine work so I'll get all the machining done there and put it together myself.
Oh, my FFHP motor couldn't be better...too bad they had to close thier doors
