Do my heads gotta come off?
Alright, what do you think? I have white smoke and water dumping out my exhaust above 5k rpms. I found yellow gunk and water on oil cap. Oil isnt milky cause its basically brand new. I'm thinking head gasket. What do you guys think?
Oh yeah. Its never overheated, so not much chance of crack in block.
Thanks

because the head gasket has burned threw near where coolant flows in the head loosing the seal.the coolant is being sucked into the chamber and being pumped out the exhaust.some times depending on how bad the gasket is blown, the coolant gets pumped into the oil pan. in this case all of the internal bearings get whiped out by the coolant, making for an expensive rebuild.

Need more information here. Water will come out the exhaust from condensation and it will form on the fill cap too. Antifreeze burning has a distinct smell and your coolant level should be dropping, or your oil should show signs of antifreeze if you're getting antifreeze in there. How much smoke are you getting at 5k rpms? Is it everytime you rev that high? Just in cold weather?

Its basically a mushroom cloud of smoke and water every time i get on it. Weather has been around 75 degrees or so. The normal morning start droplets out the tail pipe do not compare to what its doing. Its almost complete power loss when the smoke comes also. Gonna pull the plugs in the morning and see about getting a leakdown kit.
Thanks again guys

If you take mostly short trips, even good oil and perfectly sealed head gaskets will still leave you with that yellow foam and water in the oil. Its just condensation. Taking a long enough trip to heat the oil up long enough to boil out all the water will get rid of it, atleast till you take a few more short trips.
If you have to keep topping off the coolant, thats another thing. Then youre probably burning it like you said.

I drive one mile to work and it rarely sees above 30 mph. I haven't had to add coolant and it doesn't even seem low. It actually came out the top a little when I checked the coolant level. I went a long time with pcv deleted and a filter on valve cover. Is this water in my oil gonna make it smoke like it does?
