Help put my mind at ease... 7.400" pushrod or 7.425"?
I bought the G5-X2 cam kit from LGM that comes w/ comp 921s, new seats, seals, Ti retainers, and 7.400" hardened pushrods.
Just did some searching on here and 7.425" keeps comming up. So which is it?
I"m running my stock heads and valves ('01 Z06) so they're 243 castings, and also running my stock rocker arms.
What's the stock length? 7.350"?? I comparted them side/side and the new ones looked a smidge longer.

people run the 7.425's mainly for valvetrain noise reduction. there is no improvement over running 7.400's. I would run what LG recommended and be done with it. this is what TSP told me. I also run 7.400 with my 232/234 .595. 598 113LSA cam

Thanks... I hear people saying that 7.4s are stock length, but apparently stock is more like 7.35x. So 7.4's are indeed longer to account for the smaller base circle on the cam.

Stock is 7.380 (gauge length). Whats the cams base circle. I suspect its around 1.450 like most aftermarket cams. In which case the added preload will help quiet things down. im running the equivalent to 7.460 pushrods if I were on a 1.450 b/c cam and stock heads.
I say go for the 7.425 if you have the choice. If you already have the 7.400, its probably not worth changing them.
