Default what do i need for a cam install?

I was thinking about ordering the TR224 112 cam package with the pushrods, titanium retaniers, 918 springs for my 98 SS. The car has 17,000 miles on it. What else will i need to install the cam. Is there anything that i should replace while the car is apart?

Thanks

One thing that I would do is .. the thermostat
mod or buy at 160F hypertech.. While you have
the water out of the car..

here is the thermostat mod.

If you are thinking of headers now is the time.
You will have the valve covers off and it will
be real easy to get to them at that point.

When I installed my hotcam the car had 4200 miles.
I did not get headers for another year.

To hear some sound clips of the cam your getting
use 224 in the download search box here.

Thanks</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">In addition You'll need:

GM Part# 88894343 - LS1 Basic Camshaft Swap Gasket Package includes: GM Water Pump Gaskets, GM Timing Cover Gasket, GM Timing Cover Seal, GM Valve Cover Gaskets, GM Harmonic Balancer Bolt

Thunder Racing has it for $37.00

New Oil Pump $170-$200 - It may be a good idea to have the Oil Pump replaced with either an aftermarket one from ARE or a '01-'02 GM LS1 Oil Pump.
I've read that the earlier ones '97-'00 get cloged easily, and you may lose pressure at higher RPMS, Most of the Aftermarket cams peak higher than the 6200 RPM rev limiter, so you will likely be spinning higer than you are now. Replacing the Oil Pump at the time the cam is installed is also good because the Front Cover is off already and this will save time & labor $.
