Well im upgrading and was wanting to get an opinon, X-ER 224 or TR224, i got an auto and had a 114ls cam(idle was ok but could be a little more rough) you think either one of those cams on a 112 is gonna cause probs?

trevor d: what valvetrain setup did you go with (springs and lifters)? i am still tryin to decide on which cam between the tr224 vs. xe-r 224. do you think there is a noticeable difference between the two?

I ordered the Comp 7.4" pushrods, 918 springs, and 772 titanium retainers w/ the cam. Knock on wood, the 918's have held up thus far, and I hope they continue to. As jfm mentioned, hopefully when they have 10,000 miles on them they won't run into valve float problems. I guess only time will tell.
As for the difference between them, if there is any it won't be much at all. As I said before, the only real difference between the two is in lift. I wanted to try out the added lift. It certainly can't hurt power-wise. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
