I think you'd see better results out of the 224/224 cam vs. the split duration one. I'm not a big fan of split duration cams, although one is going into my new motor

Don't design your motor for nitrous unless it is only intended to run as a nitrous motor and you are spraying 200+ rwhp thru it. Otherwise, just stick with good NA power and jet up the nitrous kit to arrive at the same goal. Drivability and NA performance are more important here for your situation.

If I am not mistaken the 224/224 cam is on a 112LSA. Will that still work for the occasional squirt. And is it capable of passing the eco **** sniffer test? Sorry for a bunch of silly questions but I want to set this motor up right the first time and not hash it together then work out the bugs.

Nitrous does not discriminate. It will add alot of power to ANY camshaft spec'd engine you want. You can even spray your lawnmower

Think about it, we use nitrous on stock motors and it works well. A heads/cam motor will make even more power with the same shot.

Yes, I believe the C2 is on a 112.

Go with the C2. The power of the C1 is unreal. I am making 390Hp with stock heads with it.

MTI RULES!!!!

Is the C2 a more agressive cam than the C1? If i am not mistaken it is but not by much.

Actually no beer in this one. Just a day working in the yard with my cousin, half empty bottle of the spray layin' in the garage, light bulb in the head, cousin drills hole in the little intake, screws in nozzle with just the NO2 jet, I start mower, cousin opens the bottle, let the fireworks begin.

I have no idea how big the jet was but not like it mattered, straight nitrous going into a 5hp motor that was about 10years old. Needless to say the thing sounded like a chainsaw till she let go!

Isn't the "C2" cam the same thing as the Comp Cams XE-R 224 lobe#3722?

Default MTI cam question

I am getting a set of the MTI stage 2 heads with one of thier cams. I am a little torn between the C2 and another cam they just came out with. the C2 specs are 224/581 and the split duration one they have is 221/224 566/581. Last time I talked to them they were against the split duration cams, but chris there said the SD cam would be great for the spray. I will have the bottle on the car but wont use it other than at the track. Can I get some opinios on which route would be the best.

I just ordered my moser 9inch w/ 4.10's, locker and 35 spline axles if that helps with cam selection at all.

Thanks in advance

Looks like I might be the first. I know washington has some very strict emisions laws, but it depends on what part you live in. Anyone have the complete specs on this cam?

I caleed MTI to see about the issue with emisions and they said they havent even seen one go through a sniffer test yet. So when I get mine in and get it tested I will post results. MTI said it shouldnt be a problem with the FLP cats but they wouldnt garantee it.
