A few C2 Cam Questions!!!!
Could I run the C2 with stock heads for a few months? Or would I need the stage 2 heads to go in at the same time? What springs are used with the C2? 918's? I plan on buying a cam at the end of the month, and hope to have enough dough by the end of june for the stage 2 heads....
Or should I just get the C1 and call it good? I want the meanest setup possible, and dont have to worry about emissions laws, because we have none in Oklahoma as of last year.
My car is in sig. It is a M6. Thanks for all your help!
Also, does anyone have any sound clips of the C1, or C2? Thanks
TJ
What are the diferences between the C1 and C2 cams? What is the power difference? What woud the power difference be with Stage 2 heads?

.........There is no reason you could not use the stock heads. Though they will help the cam perform to it's maximum potential.

.....Yes, that is the spring of choice if you are not removing the heads. The 918's "should" be fine. Optimaly a dual spring of similar seat pressure (slightly higher) would be "better" but for a stock head that is not coming off the car you would be fine with the 918's. It is what i would use.

....The C1 will perform admirably while keeping your idle good. It will work VERY well with the 918's. I have seen some STELLAR track performance/dyno numbers with the C1 (Hammer) cam. That is your call on which cam to use.

...Well, it being an M6 makes it a bit easier to go with a bigger cam. But bigger is not always better. If you want proven performance and are willing to leave 5~10 hp on the table, then go with the C1. If you are looking for every last bit of performance then go with the C2 and take the plunge. Both idle similarly, both will work well with your heads, now AND later.

Does anyone have any sound clips of the C1, or C2?
.....Yes, there are a few sound clips on this BBB. Just do a search. I am sure you will find a few.

Also, I will be switching to Grott 1 7/8" LT's and LS6 Intake Manifold at the same time.
... Those mods will only enhance the performance of your choice in cams. Good idea.

What are the diferences between the C1 and C2 cams? What is the power difference? What woud the power difference be with Stage 2 heads?
...The differences would be the C1 is a XE style lobe and the C2 is a XE-R style of lobe. The XE are noted for thier steep ramp profiles. The XE-R's are noted for their VERY steep ramp profiles.
The specs for the C1 are 222/222 .566/.566 on a 112 L/S with 4 degrees of advance.
The specs for the C2 are 224/224 .581/.581 on a 112 L/S with 4 degrees of advance.
My web page as a lot of info on these two cams ( and MANY others) It may help you make a decision.
Thanks alot!! You covered all my queries at once!
John Campbell huh? So you are the guy behind the name! (C1 that is) Yeah, Im not sure which I will end up going with, but I am 100% sure it will only be one of MTI's products. I love those guys, they know their ****, and their customer service rocks!
