Default 02' LS6 cam question

Do I need to use the 02' LS6 valves with this cam and springs? Or will my 99' LS1 valves work?

I got you on the other forum. Stock will NOT work

Stock LS1 Valves and Stock LS6 Springs. The Stock LS1 Valves will work. That's what I mean

Don't bother with that cam, if you are going to get something, get something that will actually let you feel a power increase...

I d ont like when people answer you by trying to change your mind.No reply is better than discouraging opinionated answer.

What are the 02 ls6 cam specs and anyone have any part numbers on the longer push rods?

Here are the specs:
2002 LS6
204/218 .551/.547 CL:120/115 LSA:117.5 Base Circle: 19.0mm (-0.0276")

I'd be glad to tell you how much longer pushrods are needed but no one can confirm it for me

Gentlemen, i just installed Comp custom grind with a 18.75mm base circle and im using stock length Comp #7955 pushrods with no problems.
John Juriga from GM suggested not using this little preload with LS6 cam but lots of us are doing it and its supposed to help prevent hydraulic pump up at hi rpm. just FYI

Thanks for the info NastyC5. IF The base circle on the 02`s is 19mm, than what is the base circle on the 01`s? Are you saying there is .0276" difference in cam diameter sizes? I would think that is not enough to need longer push rods or we could jsut install the zo6 push rods ? Right?

Is that what you are saying and still running LS1 stock lenght push rods?

Brooke, i want to simplify this so here we go, cam base circle is actually 39.50mm for stock lS1, I PUT IN A CAM WITH A BASE CIRCLE OF 37.50mm, so its 2mm smaller but lifter only deals with half of circle at a time so 1mm difference which is .039". Now that means i would need pushrod basically .040" longer, i used stock length comp rods and valve train works fine, technically it should rev higher with out fear of lifter pump up with this set up. Hope this helps

Huh? I just want people to have the correct information. If any of my info was wrong, I'd hope someone would correct me. Nothing personal man.

Forget about it.

I was just being misunderstood, it's all good now.
