k i'm completely sick of this. i have never been so upset in my entire life and its about something as stupid as this. i don't even know if the air compressor is holding up the valves or not. i have it at 60 psi. that doesn't matter though cause i can't even get my spring compressor to work right...or i don't know how to use, one or the other. i'm just about to flip out, i have to go get the tools now that i threw into my neighbors yard and i'm out of cigs and have no car to go get more.... so yah i'm on the brink!!! ahhhhhh! any help would be great

Take a hammer and give the retainers (not the valve stem end, just the retainer) a good whack, that helps break the keepers loose so when you compress the spring, it doesn't pull the valve down too.
No way to tell if you're using the valvespring compressor correctly over the inner net... but just keep at it. If you haven't started on cylinders #7 and #8, you might want to take a valium before you start.
Good luck!

Dude, follow firing order to get piston at tdc for each cylinder your working on, so you dont have to worry about valves falling, dont try to grab coils with compressor at very bottom of spring because they are tightly wound there, move up a little and start compression, use a pen styl;e magnet to retrieve keepers when loose, and if back cylinders are kicking your *** try lever type compressor that hooks in spring next to the one your compressing. Quit smoking and use that money for more speed Equipment!

Are you using the rental screw down type sc? Lube the threads of that thing brother! Youll be fightin it less...
Also..obviously, place the holders as low on the spring as you can. Once you get 'er compressed, give it a tap (I just held it in place with one hand and open palmed it on top..and voila!...keepers free..)
Let me know if you are having a specific type of problem...I just did this with a rental 3 weeks ago.
