Coolant, what do you racers use?
100% water
1/2 and 1/2
water and water wetter?
for some reason I remember someone posting something about NOT using water in the stock radiator.
100% Dexcool will reduce your cooling ability.
Just water wetter is not recommended for cold climates, but here in sunny Cali it is fine!

wouldn't running 100%water increase engine temp quicker?

Water is the best coolant. Its thermal transfer properties are better than antifreeze. The reasons to run a mixture of antifreeze are to avoid freezing, reduce the risk of boil over, and corrosion protection. I think Water Wetter has additives to handle corrosion and may slightly increase the boiling point, but I'm not certain.

If you want to run something like these get a hunk of magnesium metal and ground it to your radiator, and let it hang in your tank (under youre pressure cap). The magnesium will then oxidize before the rest of your system - you will need to change out the metal periodically as it will dissolve with time. I do this, run 80/20, and still change out the piece of metal ever 6 months or so.

wouldn't running 100%water increase engine temp quicker? if the car is trailored to the track and back i can see using 100% water but not for driving around on street applications.
isnt antifreeze illegal at the strip?
