Those are very nice numbers considering how the trendy thing to do right now is make the same power with a much bigger camshaft.

Tuning should definitely help out some.

I also agree that heads/cam don't feel "scary" fast. I didn't think so either back when I got the setup 3 years ago. The thing you will notice is how hard the engine pulls and pulls up at higher rpm. Go race someone without heads/cam and you will see a huge difference if all else is equal. They shift early, you put 2 cars on them before shifting

Bill, those are some nice numbers that is the same place I dynoed mine. I take it you still have the 3.42's in it since you said you still have the stock gears ? Try to go to the Track Fri nite and we can line up maybe its open until 2am this friday we can run motor to motor

Don't worry about the peak numbers. I have yet to dyno over 411rwhp with my setup, yet it runs the ET and MPH
422rwhp with just Hpertech tuning is not too bad at all!

Default Hammer Cam & Stage II Dyno results

Well, this past weekend I had the hammer cam and MTI stage II LS6 heads (just in case there are future changes & also have the option to put back my original heads back on). Wasn't sure what to expect but I thought it would be scary fast. It definately feels quicker but not scary fast. So I wanted to dyno it to make sure everything was fine.

It was really fine. The dyno (dynojet at Rieth Motorsports in Boynton Beach, FL) had the wideband tuning and it showed my car was too lean. I have the hypertech and GMS maf installed so I will remove the hypertech tuning. I pretty much have all the bolt ons including the LS6 intake but stock rearend and stock gears. By the way it's a 6m.

The numbers are 422.8 rwhp (sae) and 40X rwtq. I was hoping for a couple more but I was pretty happy. The intake has an egr provision that is blocked with a plug. The plug hangs pretty far into the intake so I may be losing some there (Can pull it up). Custom tuning may give me a couple too.

I will try to make it to Moroso tomorrow night if it doesn't rain. Hope to see some good results.

Will let you all know.

Congrats on the #s, good luck @ the track.
I'm really happy with the Hammer cam - it seems to do the trick.
BTW what headers are you running?

I want scarry fast, maybe you could give me a better reference since you may high a higher scarry tolerance like me. LOL

I'm used to guys that think a 100mph car in the quarter is fast as hell. LOL Of course we are all different physiologically. But I was just wondering about how fast or how much power i might need to before it will provide a "scare" factor.

I can't get a good reference from guys who freak out when you hit the gas in a stock 13 second ride.

Those sound like dang good numbers to me!

Hey, what RPM are you taking it too? With those heads, you can take it up pretty high and the HP curve should be good to around 6700 or so.

Once you get some talented custom tuning there is more hp still to be found in your combo. I bet your area under the curve is stellar.

Good luck at the track! dyno-shmyno... the TRACK is where my combo shines.

Nice numbers. I would also be curious to see how the car runs with a stock mass air meter on it.
