Default MMS...do or don't?

In the last couple of months I've learned a lot from reading the postings on this site, talking w/other LS1 owners (at the track), talking w/some of these site sponsers and thru my own research. MMS is relatively close and I've spoken w/them on several occasions re: H/C interests. For the most part, they've answered most of my questions w/o leaving me feeling alittle 'iffy'. I personally know 2 dudes that have had their cars done by MTI and ARE and they've had zero problems and express nothing but praise. I did have a chance to meet one cat at a local track w/MMS' H/C and he expressed some reservations--in particular, re: head components. I'd like some more opinions on MMS' parts, since they use their 'own' springs, valves & cams. I don't want to drive 4 hrs to get some work done and then have something break for reasons, seemingly, due to other than racing. Thanks. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I know a few guys have had problems with a batch of MMS's valve springs. If its concern for you, MMS can use comp 918 valve springs as well.

I was going to by the MMS421SD (Aggressor 600) but the distance between FL and California was a little much. MMS has no authorized shops to fix things if something goes wrong.
So, I went with ARE (436ci) since Nick has a shop near my house that is approved to do any fixing and/or warranty work.
The shop is Norris Motorsports, which is also a top notch shop.

Talk to folks, both on AND off the net. You hear more "real world" off the net.

I think you are wise to do your research before you buy from ANYONE.

I used too. Lately I've been avoiding the hang out scenes. Where do you live now? I take the car out to tracks a lot.

I'll have dyno sheets of my 388 up soon. MMS is just finishing the rebuild on my transmission (let go on the dyno). I'll post a complete write up on it when it gets home.

I called in an order from MMS today. Talked with Al, hes great..but he really loves his MMS springs. Said I can go with whatever spring I want, but he recommends the MMS ones for a few valid reasons..but I think im still going with the 918's. Will be getting stage 2 heads, 224/224 cam @ 112 lsa, ls6 intake, tuning, removed egr/air, new maf, ported throttle body and a moser 12bolt. They have pretty good prices and seem to be a cool shop. Hope it goes good, I also live about 3 hours north of them..so my parts better not dive on me..
